Man Saves Life of Dog Found Injured On Highway

A dog was rescued from the middle of a highway after being found abandoned with both hind legs broken. She had been hit by a car–the driver of which did not bother to stop and check on the dog–but was thankfully spotted by a kind passerby.

The man could not overlook helping the dog, and proved to be her savior that night. Though he had been on duty working on a newspaper delivery, Anthony Braughton says he did not think twice about pulling over once he realized the animal was hurt.

The dog seemed comforted by the attention of this man. However she struggled to even stand at this point, and did not seem to want her company to leave.

At 5a, hours after he had first discovered the dog, Braughton delivered her to KC Pet Project to have her injuries sought after. Andy Braughton has since continued to check in on the recovery of the dog, and hopes to adopt her once she has fully recovered.
