Growing up in the early 2000’s might actually be a blessing. There are things we simply never forget. Either a toy, a song or just your favorite pair of shoes. Here we’re going to share a list of those things you probably forgot and possibly miss. Celebrities you thought were the perfect couple, songs you definitely had in your iPod and the little feeling of superiority you had when you were the first person among your friends to get a flip phone with a camera.
1. Your pink “Razr” flip phone.

The Razr was the coolest phone you could own. It was super thin, had a front camera for optimal selfies before selfies were a thing, and you could customize the wallpaper with any picture you wanted which was definitely the new thing! Don't tell me you didn't feel cool opening your phone to get a call and not just having to press a button.

Were you Paris Hilton or Reese Witherspoon in “Legally Blonde” with this? All in pink, thin as you had never seen a phone and kinda square. What could be cooler? Of course, nothing. Remembering it, I have to say that it looked like Barbie's phone. It looks like a toy, I mean, not in a bad way but yes It definitely looks as if it was made of plastic.
2. Silly Bandz.

They were actually made as a regular rubber band. However, they were definitely the best bands to play with. They were never just there around your wrist. You couldn't stop playing with, stretching them.

We were fans of untangling the bands after entangled them. It was awesome how they never lost their shape! If you bought a dinosaur, it would always be that. Colorful, energetic, stretchable bandz they were our addiction!
3. Dance Dance revolution.

When this arcade game came out you couldn’t stop playing with it. It was the greatest excuse to go dancing with friends. You played so many times that you even learned the lyrics of each chinese song as well as its dance steps.

You probably even practiced the dance on the floor while waiting for your turn. You were so enthusiastic and happy waiting, that you couldn't avoid practicing on the floor. When the game came out in this shape like a carpet to put in your own living room everyone gone crazy! Remember? The games were not as cool though...
4. Lady marmalade.

How a song about prostitution became huge with a bunch of tweens? I have no idea. Apparently it was Christina Aguilera's time so we all loved her. Then, she came out sexy with that outfit and we loved her even more so I guess that's the answer. Christina made us all love "Lady Marmalade".

But that’s kind of how the 2000s rolled. I mean, 4 celebrities in those outfits, cool song, nice videoclip, catchy lyrics everything made teenagers from the 2000's need to sing that song. Also knowing what Voulez-vous coucher avec moi meant! Remember that?
5. Good cause bracelets.

Decking out your arm with "Livestrong" and other cause bracelets this was a "must". Showing you totally cared! Although they were colorful bands made out of rubber, they were cool at the moment so besides doing something good for a cause it was definitely a way of being cool.

I mean it was the sum of both things. The more you had the coolest you were and you were buying them for a good cause so they were two things that were definitely in your head when wearing them. Blue, green, white, violet and the classic yellow one were all around each teenager wrist.
6. The Black Eyed Peas.

Fergie was the most sexy singer of all time. Who didn't want to dance like her? Every teenager of the 2000's who watched MTV definitely knew Black Eyed Peas and wanted to be Fergie, wear cool clothes and know her dance moves.

You obviously loved singing “My Humps” or “Pump it” they were on your top 5 favorite songs! When shuffling songs in your iPod you were waiting for this 2 songs to appear. They were also on tv and if you went dancing, they would definitely be on the playlist dance club.
7. iPod Nano.

A long trip, going for a run or trying to sleep, if you didn’t have your iPod you were definitely not going to achieve your final goal. It came in lots of colors and shapes, whichever you had in any color was other MUST in your 2000's things.

To put music in a birthday party or just to go shopping you needed them! Remember! Netflix didn’t exist yet so you downloaded videos you wanted to watch more than once. They were mostly music videos but if you had the capacity you could even download a sitcom chapter etc...
8. My super sweet 16.

If you were turning 16 you obviously wanted the huge party and the car! I bet you even sang the presentation song "sweet 16" it said when you saw this picture! It was the stickiest song in the world. I remember eating lunch while watching all the birthday girls going crazy about their dresses and preparing their parties.

They were mostly rich so you knew that your parents would never buy you that car at that age. However, that was the cool thing of watching the show. It was like a fantastic world where each party was the biggest thing in those girls lives!
9. Heelys

They were the coolest snickers in the world. Walk, walk, walk and suddenly skate, skate, skate. Really cool snickers I wish I could wear them now to go to work. Imagine how fast you could get there?

You felt like the sk8ter girl you wanted to be. However, let’s not forget how uncomfortable they were. You couldn’t walk with those on!
10. Totally knowing what “shake it like a Polaroid picture” meant.

Whenever you listen to those lyrics, you knew it was OutKast single “Hey Ya”. If you were a real 2000 person you'll remember the Kids Choice Awards OutKast performance singing this song. I don't know why but I think I definitely know the song just because of that performance. Awesome, right?

Not to mention polaroid pictures were not as “vintage” as they are now. In that moment polaroid pictures were not the novelty they are now. They were just the way of taking pictures it existed some years ago. Opposite to now that represent the cool vintage artsy kinda picture.
