Us millennials are the generation most addicted to technology. This is because, social networks were invented when we were young, and we have basically adapted to them. Not only Facebook, now we also have Instagram, Snapchat and so on… It is not an issue, they are mostly great tools to connect with other people, the main issue here is when we connect all the time. Even though there is no need to talk to people.
We have that impulsive thing that makes us talk and talk leaving no topics for when it comes to seeing someone in person. The other thing that is happening is that we are losing the opportunity to enjoy some activities outdoors without starring at the screen. We need to change that ASAP! Here are some helpful tips to try and stop your technology addiction.
Work

If you work with your computer, try to focus in that and stop doing some other things. This will make you use it only in your working hours without prolong it too much. If you mix things up, you'll be in front of the screen twice the time you needed.
Cellphones

People use their cellphone all the time, we need to start counting how many hours of the day do we lose starring at the screen just scrolling your Facebook feed or Instagram pictures.
Read a book

Read a book! Why don't you replace half of the time you stare at the screen with your favorite book? You can definitely keep your mind sharp and rest from your work day with something a little bit more interesting.
Whatsapp

Whats App is a great app. I think it is even the most used application of the time. However, even though we love sending voice messages we also know that sometimes it takes us double the time. If you just call someone to say something it is almost in all the cases the best choice you could take! Start calling again! It will also decrease your anxiety levels.
Computer games

Try changing your kids computer games for something else. Maybe it is better to buy table games instead so that they get a mix. Sometimes they forget the real world with those games. You need to be careful.

This, were cool and great games too. Twister can be a little to 90's by now. However, I remember it was really fun. You should introduce your kids games like this one. Sometimes this type of games are healthier and even funnier. They can even play it outdoors!
Cooking

It can be a great way of distracting yourself from work or college. Cooking can be quite satisfying. It doesn't matter if you are the number one cooker or if it doesn't come out the way you expected. The important thing is relaxing a little bit without the use of technology and social networks.
Go for a walk

You can go jogging with your dog, alone or with friends. Any of them is valid. You can definitely have the best of the times breathing pure air and just watching the leaves fall in autumn. You'll miss this great scenery if you take your cellphone so you should tell everyone that you are okey and that you are leaving it home for some hours.
Put your house in order

You can tidy up your home. That will help you organize in the future and you'll also get distracted. This won't let you play with your phone and it's a great thing for you and your home also.
Stop worrying about how people sees you

They are always going to be watching. That is something you can't change, what you can change actually is caring about that and constantly care about others too watching their feed and Instagram stories. Stop worrying about what other people are doing and worry more about yourself.

You will arrive home being more tired which will also make you sleep better. That will diminish the hours of cellphone or computer usage and changes them for working out hours!

It is an addiction so don't replace and addiction with another one. You will get fatter and your humor will change for the worst. Believe me, food is something you need to have in order to live well and NOT to replace your technology addiction or boredom in general.
DON'T REPLACE TECHNOLOGY SMOKING

Even though you think it diminishes anxiety, smoking increases it! Giving you more and more addiction to nicotine. Wanting to have more and more of something is an addiction problem. Believe me, smoking is not the solution to ANYTHING.
Start painting

Start painting! It is a good way of getting your mind relaxed from work and responsibilities. Again, you don't need to became Da Vinci with it! It is jut to relax, don't turn it into another responsibility.
Have an office

If you mix your home with the place you work in, you'll get distracted with your computer more often. Our brain works in a way that it always connect places and feelings so if you are at home, you will probably relate home with your leisure time. You will get distracted which will affect your working hours as well as your computer screen hours. Be careful and go somewhere else! Make your favorite coffee place your new office!
Delete some apps

If you delete some of your apps, that will save you cellphone time! We, people are a little bit too addicted to some apps, try to figure put which of them are the ones that you can't stop using and delete them. Just try it for a couple of days and see how it goes! It won't hurt anyone.
Pay less

Pay your cellphone company a little bit less. That will make you have less internet hours so you won't waste it with everything. You'll think better when you need it without wifi and when you just don't.
Difficult to open case

Buy a case that is difficult to open. That will make your phone less accessible so you'll think better when it comes to taking out of your pocket. You can also leave it further than you used to.
