FRIENDS has got to be that TV show everyone watched at least one time in their lifetime. Is one of the most known and successful 90’s shows and how could it not be? I mean, it is quite hilarious and each character is perfectly created. It was a great way of describing good relationships and it was a cool series to watch in your leisure time.
Here, we are going to share some things you probably didn’t know about FRIENDS!
It was called "Insomnia Café?

It was another plot and they characters were different. Even though, they were the same people, the main relationship was not Ross and Rachel's it was actually Joey and Monica. Can you imagine that?
Cast changes

Even tough you can't imagine it differently now, many actors were considered for each role. Of course they made the best choices, and now it seems as each character was written for the actors that were part of the sitcom.
Ross was actually for David Schwimmer

Eric McCormack said that he auditioned more than two times for this character. The producer told him that they were already working with David Schwimmer who was the first person they chose to be part of the show.

This looks a lot like NYC central park's fountain. However, it was shot in Warner studios. If you look carefully you'll figure that out. But well, it is the art of the television and we like it too!
Vegas trip

The director thought it was a good idea to go on a Vegas trip with all the cast before the show comes out. He said he had a feeling with the show and that it was going to be the last time they were not going to be stalked by fans! I guess he was totally right in the end.
Lisa Kudrow and the guitar

Thanks god this was like this! Imagine it, if she chose to learn the guitar the famous "Smelly cut" wouldn't exist. So, in some way, she hating her guitar lessons gave as a lot of funny material!
It was filmed with a live audience

It was a kind of test to see if the jokes were working before the show came out. It was a long process to film everything and added to that they had 300 people watching. I don't know how they did it, but it definitely came out the best way that it could. The show mas a huge success.
Many people thought that Chandler was gay

A lot of people thought that he was gay. Even the show actors, when they read the script they thought that he had a gay orientation. After this been said out loud, the director of the sitcom denied it!
Negotiation

They all wanted to earn more money per episode. So they decided to negotiate as a group. In 1997 they decided to stop working until they got paid $100,000 dollars per episode each. Luckily, by the end of the season they were earning $1 million per episode. Amazing, right?
Continuity

Their apartment number changes throughout time. Monica and Chandler's door number changes several times! This was not a continuity filming problem. It was a decision the direction crew made.
Phoebe's twin sister

Phoebe's twin sister was already part of "Mad about You" cast but "Friends" producers asked her for this part and she couldn't refuse. She made both roles and was happy about it.
Pregnancy issues

Cox's pregnancy was not written into the show for obvious reasons, that is why they hided it with different clothes and costumes so that nobody noticed. They of course, did a great job!

Fans became quite obsessed with it, they were starting to look for meanings that actually didn't even existed. This turned into a job for one of the electric department guys! Amazing!
Last name change

Their last name changed when Courtney Cox married David Arquette. They all changed their surnames adding "Arquette" in the credits. The episode was dedicated to the newly married couple.
The actors were not huge fans of animals

Of course Kudrow was afraid of the duck that appeared in season three. Ross had also a pet that was a monkey and was called Marcel, this made the shooting hours longer so it didn't work as good as they thought it would.
Bruce Willis appearance

He appeared for free in the show after loosing a bet with Mathew Perry. Mathew believed that a movie that they were shooting together was going to be number one in the box office on its opening weekend and Bruce thought that he was crazy. Obviously he lost!
The Dollhouse

The art department crew had to make in three days 6 of these! As it was supposed to catch on fire. They had to be identical of course and then they had to see it burning up. Sad story for the one that had to put it together right? But well, that is the art of television and audiovisual contents.
Matthew Perry's addiction

He was addicted to prescription drugs and alcohol which could be hidden during some time. However, he declared not being high at work he said that he had to go with painful hangovers that got him exhausted.

They huddle before they started shooting everyday. It was really cute but also nostalgic. David Schwimmer was pretty emotional was he started feeling that that huddles were going to end after they finished shooting.

She didn't know wether to come or not for the last season. This would've cause the sitcom prematured ending. She didn't know what else she had of Rachel inside and in a way wanted to leave the audience with those high expectations when the show was in its best pick of popularity.
